Job Description

The incumbent of this position is responsible for: The Family Services Coach is dedicated to developing and supporting family services staff. Through comprehensive onboarding, training, and mentorship, the coach empowers staff to excel in their roles. The focus is on building expertise in all areas of family services delivery to enhance program effectiveness and outcomes.

Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Family Services Specialist, and general supervision of the Content Manager

Exercised: None.

RATE: $22.69-$24.03

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide dedicated mentorship and training to new family workers throughout their first year of employment to foster growth and retention.
  • Facilitate ongoing training and support of new family services staff through first two years of employment, growing skills and knowledge in the PFCE Framework and Relationship-Based Competencies.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to family services staff in skills areas identified through monitoring, supervision and/or PIR data.
  • Guide family workers to achieve their professional goals and build capacity through focused goal setting, on-the-job application, self-reflection, and feedback.
  • Provide support to content specialists and center leadership in managing vacant family services caseloads, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accurate documentation.
  • Support ERSEA Specialist with recruitment planning and activities, including scheduling and completing application interviews, outreach to community partners via mailings or in-person contacts and attending community events/meetings.
  • Ensure distribution of quarterly program wide newsletters by family workers.
  • Be familiar with all content areas of the Head Start Program Performance Standards and content plans.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when needed.
  • Will maintain professional boundaries with all current, past, and prospective clients, and maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff, in accordance with SNHS policy and procedure.
  • Abide by all SNHS Safety policies and procedures.
  • Present professional and positive image as a representative of SNHS.
  • Responsible for having adequate knowledge of all SNHS programs and will gather sufficient intake information to make referrals to other SNHS programs which are beneficial to the client and his/her family.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to relate effectively to families, staff and the community.
  • Ability to work in a team environment that supports quality and integrated services.
  • Flexible with time for possible evening meetings or weekend recruitment activities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services or a related field
  • Experience working in Head Start/Early Head Start.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience as a Head Start/Early Head Start family worker or home visitor.
